204rd Anniversary of the Mazu Pilgrimage to 18 Villages in Hanxi: Praying for Peace and Abundance
Mazu, the Goddess of the Sea, embraces us
with her compassionate heart and protects our community from hardship and
adversity. Under her divine blessings, our land has been bestowed with abundant
harvests, thriving population, harmonious neighborhoods, prosperous finances,
and overall well-being.
The tradition of the "Mazu's
Pilgrimage to 18 Villages" can be traced back 204 years, making it one of
the most iconic cultural festivals in our region. Every year on the first day
of the third lunar month, we hold the "Mazu's Pilgrimage to 18 Villages:
Praying for Peace and Abundance" event, where Mazu's sacred palanquin is
carried through 18 villages, seeking her blessings. This year, the pilgrimage
will take place from March 29th to April 19th.
We are deeply honored that our company has
been selected as a resting point along this year's pilgrimage route. As the
procession passes through, the local residents will devoutly pay homage to
Mazu, and they will be treated to traditional performances of dragon and lion
dances, firecrackers, drumming, and gongs, all in the hope of receiving the
deity's protection and good fortune. It is a rare privilege for our company to
host Mazu's palanquin and for our employees to reverently worship the Goddess,
praying for their dreams to come true.
This event not only celebrates our region's rich cultural heritage but also serves as a powerful symbol of community unity and the shared blessings of the divine. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in this sacred tradition and to share it with our colleagues and the wider community. Let us come together to honor the compassionate Mazu, and may her blessings continue to guide and protect us all.
